Cambridge Stem Cell Initiative

Recognised for its strengths in the field of stem cell research, the University of Cambridge has created the Cambridge Stem Cell Initiative under the direction of its key stem cell faculty members, Professor Roger Pedersen, Professor Azim Surani and Professor Austin Smith. The convener of the Initiative is Professor Roger Pedersen. The Initiative brings together leading investigators with interests in stem cells and affiliated disciplines from across the entire University, including the School of Biological Sciences, the School of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The Initiative is therefore the primary conduit for engagement between basic and clinical scientists aimed at biomedical translation of stem cell and regenerative medicine research.
